On Thursday 20th October our parish was blessed by the visitation of the Pilgrim Statue of Our Lady of Fatima. After spending the morning in school, where each class were able to make their age-appropriate October Devotions, facilitated by Deacon Andrew, Patrick (from the Apostolate of Our Lady of Fatima) and also Mr Atkin (the lay-chaplain of St John Fisher Catholic High School) with a group of Year 7 children, who were former pupils at St Joseph’s School.
Sadly the poor weather made it impossible to hold our planned procession, but the rain didn’t dampen our spirits, and the afternoon continued in the Church, with recitation of the Rosary, a film presentation about the Shrine in Fatima, several talks and then Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament. Our day together, culminated in a concelebrated Mass, in a full and vibrant Church.
